These icons are called favicon. These icons appears on the url box when someone visits your site or when they bookmark your site.

creating a favicon is very simple and fast….

Let’s start!

Step 1:

Start a new document of 16×16 pix.

Step 2:
Draw what you like in there i have drawn this.

Save it as favicon.bmp

step 3:

Now download a tool from the net called as IconShop to convert it to an icon file. Once you are ready with your icon all you have to do is to add this code into your HTML page.

<link REL=”SHORTCUT ICON” href=”favicon.ico” type=”image/x-icon”>

Here in the href you have to give the location of the icon where it is located. You have to put this code in everypage where you want the icon to appear.
