Step 1:
Open two images in photoshop. One a background(img1), and another, the foreground (img2). Make sure that both images are almost the same size, if not, resize.

Step 2:
Ctrl+A (select all) on the Img2 and ctrl+C (copy). then select img1 and ctrl+v (or paste).

step 3:
Select the “move tool” (or press v on the keyboard). Move your image to reveal half background or wherever you want it to be.

step 4:
Select the Rectangular Marquee tool. Then in the options bar on top, give it a feather radius (about 50-60 pixels for an image of size 1024X768). The feather depends on your image size, the bigger the image, the more feather.

Step 5:
then, do a selection right where the borders on the two images are. Press “del” on the keyboard. If you find there is a trace of both images not blending, just move the marquee around and press del again.

Step 6:
in the layers pallette, just change the blend mode of your layer1 to see what fits best. Different blend modes give different effects. I used the Luminousity blend.

Here is my final image:

step 1:

Open up a portrait. Make sure it has a dark background. Daylight pictures don’t work very well. Take artistically lighted pictures. Dark, solemn pictures make the best death effects…

Step 2:
Zoom into your eyes. as much as possible. Don’t bother too much about pixelation. If the image is a lower resolution like 640×480, then maybe a 400% zoom would do.

Step 3:
Select your Clone Stamp Tool or press s on the keyboard. If you don’t know how to use the clone stamp, all you have to do is, keep alt pressed while selecting your source area, that is you Alt+click on the area you want as a source.
For this tutorial, your source area is the white part of the eye.

Step 4:
After that, just click on the black area (the cornea?) to make the whole eye white. pretty simple.

Step 5:
Next, select the burn tool from the toolbox or press O on the keyboard. Zoom out of your image to see the whole face. Just drag around the eye sockets and random areas on the face.
Be sure to alternate between Highlights, Midtones and Shadows in the Range criteria in the Options Bar.

Step 6:
Look scary yet? If the lighting is bad, then it wont look that feasable. so, go ahead and duplicate your layer by going to Layer>New>Layer via copy or by pressing Ctr+J.

Step 7:
Play around with the blend modes to get the desired effect. Overlay should be good for lighter images. I used Multiply.

Alternates:
- You could also use the Smudge tool to remove the black part of the eyes. It gives a more smooth feel to them.
- As final touches, I have used the Dodge tool to lighten the eyes of the image because they were looking a bit too much on the dark side for a ghost..
- If you find that the white area is too smooth, add noice by going to Filter>Noise>Add noise. or you could also add some elements to make it look like veins and stuff.

My original/final result:

It wasn’t such a great pic to start off with. I couldn’t show much of the burning around the eyes cause the dark circles were already there.

Sometimes, you want to get closer pictures of some objects that are too big to appear in the viewfinder of the camera.
So you have to satisfy yourself with a very low res pic taken from way back.

Photoshop has a very good feature called Photomerge to counter this problem.
This tool lets you merge two pictures of a same object taken in diff angles.

I’ll first start by two pictures of this old aeroplane, taken in the Lucknow Zoo.

* Open both of the images.
* Now go to File —> Automate —> Photomerge

Now unless you are a professional photographer or have taken the images in perfect Perspective,
Photomerge would not be able to automatically merge the images.
So you have to the work manually.

* Drag the two images in the central area.

* Use the Zoom tool (Z) to zoom into the picture. Alt + Click to Zoom out if you wish.

* Use the select Image tool (A). Now drag and align the images in the order you wish them to appear.

This is how it is supposed to look… It will be distorted.
Now as you can see the image of the head of the plane is not properly aligned.

* So you may have to use the rotate tool ( R) to make the merge look better.

* The picture looks a lot better now. But the ground and rails are not properly aligned.
So you will have to click on Perspective radio button on the right.

* Now you can also select Advanced Blending and Cylindrical mapping and click on preview to view the final picture.Click Ok when you are finished.

This is the final merged pic.

You can even create 360* views using this tool.

Well this method provides better results!

Step 1: Open the Image
Step 2: Convert the Image to Lab Colour by Image –> Mode –> Lab Color
Step 3: Goto the channels pallete and select Channel “a”
Step 4: Filter –> Blur –> Gaussian Blur (5px)
Step 5: Now select Channel “b”
Step 6: Filter –> Blur –> Gaussian Blur (5px)
Step 7: Now select Channel “Lightness”
Step 8: Filter –> Noise –> Despecle
Step 9: Image –> Mode –> RGB Color

In this picture I am making this 3d model a ghost. I got him from a wallpaper.

You can take a human’s image too.
Okay so let’s get started…

Use a picture taken in dark environment or which looks spooky.
Here I have opened a picture taken by me in the forest (Yes, I go out of the house too…)
Looks pretty scary eh?

Open up the picture of the person you want to convert to a ghost and the picture of the place too.
We will first make the model spooky and then extract his picture.
So first of all we have to convert the picture to Black/White

> Image —> Mode —> Lab Color

> Goto the channels tab and delete and one of the channels a and b.

> Image —> Mode —> Grayscale

> Image —> Mode —> RGB color

> Image —> Adjustments —> Brightness/Contrast {Contrast : 70 —- Brightness : 15}

> Filter —> Extract
{ Here you have to use the Edge Highlighter(B) to highlight the edges you wan’t to extract and then fill the fortion with Fill Tool(G) }

> Select the Move Tool(V) and then drag the image of the model into the forest image, and set the new layer’s blending mode to Screen
(Hint : You my need to resize the picture of the guy, Goto Edit —> Transform —> Scale and drag the corner of the image while pressing Shift, to get the desired size

> Ctrl+Click the new layer

> Select —> Feather (5px)

> Ctrl + Shift + I, then press Delete

> Now select the Eraser tool(E) {Radius : depends —- Hardness : 0 —- Mode : Brush —- Opacity : 100 —- Flow : 100
Erase the legs of the ghost to be…

> You should be almost done. Now you have to play with the blending modes and opcaity to make the ghost scary.
Things you could do with the ghost:

I :
> Filter —> Blur —> Gaussian Blur (3px)
> Image —> Adjustments —> Brightness/Contrast (play with the settings)

II :
> Image —> Adjustments —> Hue/Saturation (Colourize : Yes , play with other settings)

III :
> Press D
> Filter —> Distort —> Diffuse Glow (play with the settings)

IV :
> Press Q
> Filter —> Render —> Clouds
> Filter —> Render —> Difference Clouds
> Image —> Adjustments —> Brightness/Contrast (play with the settings)
> Press Q again and the press Delete

V :
> Press Ctrl+Shift+E
> Image —> Adjustments —> Equalize
This is the final result… The results can be very different if you experiment.

Step 1:

Open a image that contains some stationary water. I have selected this image.

Step 2:

Now select the water area with the eleptical marquee tool and make the selection as follows.

Step 3:

Go to Filters>Distort>Polar Coordinates.. and use the following settings.

Step 4:

This is what I got.

You can already see the waterfall, there but those sharp edges at the starting of the waterfal llooks unreal so to fix that all you have to do is take the blur tool (R) select the brush size as 19 px.

Step 5;

Now you can see it looks better, but still at the center of the waterfall it looks a bit odd. Now we need some cloning to fix it up select the Cloning Stamp Tool (S) { size: 29pix } and ctrl+click on the right side of the waterfall to select the starting point of the Cloning. Like this

Now hold your left mouse button and brush it towards right so the cloning is done. You need some practice to get it right.

Step 6:

This is what I got after performing cloning.

Today let us create a Vampire. So who will be our character in target. I think sharukh makes a good fit in here.

ok ok let’s get back to the tut.
Step 1:

Open the pix that you want to make as a vampire just make sure that teeth’s are clearly visible on that pix and eyes are open.

Step 2:

Let’s make his teeth’s a bit longer. Let’s zoom in and select the teeth with the Polygon lasso tool

Now we need to press ctrl+d to perform Free Transform (Edit>Free Transform)

now zoom out we have this

His one teeth is done now with the selection on just press ctrl+c or Edit>copy and paste. This will help us to make the 2nd teeth too. Use the move tool (v) to move the 2nd teeth to it’s location here is what i got
Step 3:

Step 4:

Hmm, Let’s dye his hair to something funky so the photo looks a bit more realistic.

Make the selection of his hairs with the Polygon lasso tool (L).

use the same technique used to change his eye colour to change his hair colours too

That’s all it’s done we have a cute looking vampire now.
